1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Plotmuse (“Plotmuse,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Ayush Sharma, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information in connection with the Plotmuse website and application (the “Service”). By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect: account information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, and authentication credentials; User Content, meaning the scripts, treatments, storyboards, notes, and other creative material you create, upload, or store within the Service; usage data collected automatically, including pages and features accessed, session duration, click and navigation patterns, referring URLs, and timestamps; device and technical data, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and general location inferred from IP address; communications you send us for support or feedback; and cookies and similar tracking technologies, as described in Section 8.
3. How we use information
We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide the Service, including rendering and processing your User Content; authenticate you and secure your account; communicate with you about your account, beta access, updates, and security notices; diagnose technical issues and improve performance; analyze usage trends to prioritize product development; enforce our Terms and this Policy and prevent fraud or abuse; and comply with legal obligations.
4. Consent and legal basis
By creating an account and using the Service, you provide your consent to the collection and processing of your information as described in this Policy, to the extent required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) or any other applicable law. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, though withdrawal may limit or prevent your ability to use the Service and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. AI, machine learning, and model training
We do not use your User Content to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve any machine-learning or artificial-intelligence model, whether ours or a third party's, unless you separately and explicitly opt in. Where AI-powered features process your User Content to generate output for you, that processing is solely to deliver the feature you requested and is subject to the same protections as the rest of your User Content.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers and subprocessors who perform services on our behalf (such as cloud hosting, analytics, and email delivery) under contractual obligations to protect it and use it only as instructed; in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy or a materially similar policy; where required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Plotmuse, our users, or the public, including enforcing our Terms.
7. International data transfers
Your information may be stored and processed in countries other than your own, including jurisdictions where our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure any such transfer is subject to appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law.
8. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, security, and — where enabled — analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using core features of the Service, such as staying signed in. 9. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Upon account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information and User Content within a commercially reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or necessary for legitimate backup, security, or fraud-prevention purposes, in which case data is retained only as long as necessary for that purpose.
10. Data security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit and access controls limiting who may access it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
11. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct inaccurate or incomplete information, request deletion of your personal information, withdraw consent to processing, object to or restrict certain processing, and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request, and we may decline requests that are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or prohibited by law.
12. Grievance officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Grievance Officer for Plotmuse is Ayush Sharma, reachable at info@plotmuse.com. The Grievance Officer will acknowledge and address complaints regarding this Policy or the handling of your personal information within the timelines prescribed by applicable law.
13. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at, and is not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.
14. Third-party links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Policy does not apply to, and we are not responsible for, the privacy practices of any third party. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party service you access.
